Dear Rose City Customer, Summer is in full swing and most of us are thinking more about our vacations than our computers. For that reason we're a week later than normal this month with the newsletter... but better late than never! Perhaps you are surfing the web researching holiday options, and to help with that we have a special deal on our popular LinkStash. We also have a couple more nifty little freeware tools called Folder-To-TXT and VistaBootPRO to tell you about. You are receiving our newsletter because you purchased a software title from Rose City Software, or you subscribed to our monthly newsletter. If you no longer wish to receive the newsletter, you may unsubscribe using this link. You can also update your information by visiting this link.
Our newsletter always contains lots of tricks and treats as well as other special information from our parent site, InfiniSource.com, a very popular Windows Resource Center & HelpWithWindows.com, including critical Windows update information, and useful Windows tips and tricks.
We hope you'll enjoy this edition of the newsletter and you are welcome to forward it to your friends who might also enjoy it. And be sure to watch our upcoming newsletters this summer and fall as we have in development new versions of many of our most popular titles including DU Meter 4.0, LinkStash 2.0, and an updated Courier Email freeware, as well as two new utilities we are sure you will find very useful. CONTENTS: |
With each edition we will try to bring you a useful software offer... just as we did in previous months. Some are direct from Rose City and some are great toys and tools we have discovered elsewhere that we think you will like! The first one we wanted to tell you about is something called Folder-To-TXT. Let's say you just collected some files in a folder on your hard drive or on a USB stick - like photos, music titles, etc. Now you want to get an editable list of all files in this directory including sub-folders … but Windows offers nothing for you. No easy way to print it, no way to get it to your clipboard! Folder-To-TXT is available for free from our friends at 1-ABC Many of us are trying to get used to the new Windows Vista but may not be ready to abandon Windows XP and all the applications we use which may not be fully Vista compatible. The workaround here is to install a dualboot system so when you start your computer you have the option to boot either into XP or Vista.
An easy way to do this is to use VistaBootPRO which has proven to be an indispensable utility for the Vista enthusiast, and was recently named to PC World's "101 Fantastic Freebies" list.
Check it out at the VistaBootPRO website We hope you'll find one or both of these freebies useful. And for lots of other cool free tools please check our website: Read on for some other great software specials and tips. |

Windows Tips and Tricks
You'll find hundreds of useful tips and tricks for every version of Windows at our own www.HelpWithWindows.com (formerly Windows-Help.NET). Because we operate a Windows help site and help forums and we sell software to enhance the Windows platform, we are in a prime position to hear about many of the problems reported by average Windows users out there around the world. Many people are looking to improve the reliability, speed and effectiveness of their Windows machines... and that's where we can help. Troubleshooting Windows Explorer Errors We get messages from people having problems with Windows Explorer crashes on a regular basis. Mostly they go something like this: "When I right-click a file in Windows Explorer, I get a message that Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" or "When I try to browse through the folders on my computer, I receive an error message that Windows Explorer needs to close." In a lot of cases, these errors are caused by 3rd party shell extensions that are not functioning properly. Read this HelpWithWindows TechFile to start troubleshooting these crashes! | ||||||
