With each edition we will try to bring you a useful software program you don't have to pay for... just as we did in previous months. Some are direct from Rose City and some are great toys and tools we have discovered elsewhere that we think you will like! This month, we have a handy freeware tool called MegaCrammer which allows users to create personalized tests to suit their specific needs. 
MegaCrammer is a handy tool for the student who wants to get ahead. MegaCrammer is a test maker that allows the student (or the teacher) to create personalized tests to suit their specific needs and greatly improves study efficiency. The program creates a unique test that changes each time it is taken. MegaCrammer will even grade the test for you and highlight your errors.
By simply restarting the test, a new test is created on the same material and in a different order. MegaCrammer allows the user to create multiple-choice, true or false, and fill-in-the-blank tests, as well as study guides. MegaCrammer creates tests for many different subjects, including Math, English, Social Studies, and foreign languages. MegaCrammer allows for easy data manipulation and supports the alphabets of fourteen different languages including Spanish, French, German, Latin, and Italian. There are also free downloads of readymade tests from their website. You can download the free edition or you can also take a look at their pro edition and Teacher edition on the KatzReview website. You will always hear about them first at our site at Rose City Software or There were several important Windows updates in the past couple months - here's one of the latest: MS08-054: Vulnerability in Windows Media Player could allow remote code execution Date last published: September 15, 2008 This security update resolves a privately reported vulnerability in Windows Media Player that could allow remote code execution when a specially crafted audio file is streamed from a Windows Media server. If a user is logged on with administrative user rights, an attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could take complete control of an affected system. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights.
