With each edition we will try to bring you a useful software program you don't have to pay for... just as we did in previous months. Some are direct from Rose City and some are great toys and tools we have discovered elsewhere that we think you will like! This month, we have a handy freeware tool called KeepVid, actually a free website which enables you to download any video from YouTube or Google and save it to your hardrive. We all see videos on these sites we'd like to save to our harddrive, but the sites don't make it easy. 
With KeepVid, it is effortless. Just copy the YouTube or Google URL from the address bar of your browser and paste it into box at KeepVid.com. and click 'Download'.
Then on the next page, as it explains, just Right-click the download link, choose 'Save Target As...', and rename file to get_video.flv... or [your_name_for_the_video].FLV. In other words, the file downloads as an unassociated file... you need to add the .FLV extension to be able to open it. You'll also need an FLV player, another free tool written by martijndevisser.com and you can get it for free from Download.com You download and install the free FLV Player and then you will be able to play the videos you download through KeepVid.com. Start saving those cool videos that you really like to watch them any time anywhere. And for lots of other cool free tools please check our website.
